Primary Football Wolds Louth

Primary Football - two teams through to County Finals

Six boys teams and three girls squads entered the Louth round of the primary school football competition.

With their sights on a place in the County Final footballers from North Cockerington, Holton le Clay, St. Michaels, Lacey Gardens and Theddlethorpe converged on the tranquil setting of the London Road ground in Louth on a warm October afternoon.

Immaculate pitches and spectator support made for some excellent, hard fought games which ran to the wire as the results from the last game played determined the winners in both sections.

Lacey Gardens girls were unbeaten winners although a goal in the final minute of the last game of the day secured them the win.

Holton le Clay boys only needed a draw from their last match to clinch the trophy but the oppositon from North Cockerington proved the stronger team and Holton went down 2-1 leaving St. Michaels to win the league by one point and therefore go to represent the Wolds School Sport Partnership at the County Finals.

The County Finals will be held at Burgh le Marsh on 30th January 2010 (boys) and 6th February 2010 (girls)
