 Yr 8 Rugby QualifierCordeaux boys secure a place in the Year 8 Rugby County Final Market Rasen Rugby Club recently hosted the northern qualifier for the year 8 boys rugby competition.
In glorious October sunshine eight teams of boys from the Coastal and Wolds and Lincoln and Gainsborough Super Zones competed for places in the County Finals.
The teams were split into two leagues each playing the other with the winners of these leagues going through to the grand final play off.
Cordeaux played some excellent rugby in the league section resulting in the boys clinching the top spot and progressing to the final. Here they met their match in the team from LSST Lincoln. The 3-0 scoreline did not however reflect the Cordeaux youngsters determined play. Their attack was superb and tries were denied only by a strong LSST defence and speed on the turn over. Bearing in mind Cordeaux has 500 on role to LSST 1300 the accomplishment by these lads was fantastic.
We wish them well in the County Final. Other teams from our Super Zone taking part were De Aston and Queen Elizabeths Horncastle. |
