Burgh le Marsh and Huttoft run away with the silverware. Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Alford hosted the 2010 Primary Athletics Festival for 120 athletes from Huttoft, Hogsthorpe, Willoughby, Burgh le Marsh and Skegness Richmond schools.
The children from years 1 to 6 who took part in 45 track and 3 field events were watched by an enthusiastic crowd of spectators on a glorious June afternoon.
Flat races, obstacle, hurdle, bean bag and the good old egg and spoon ran alongside jumping, throwing and bouncing field events.
Orgnanisers Mrs Lancaster from Willoughby school and Competition Manager, Paula Hill watched procedings run smoothly with Mr Grayson - head of PE and the year 12 QEGS students acting as lane officials and judges. Miss Dougall was scorer for the afternoon.
Each race and field event winner received a certificate and the winning large and small schools took home the annual shield. Results - Large Schools winner Burgh le Marsh 265 points, runners up Richmond 237 points. Small schools - winner Huttoft 235 points, runners up Willoughby 223 points and in third place Hogsthorpe.
